The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup is a 16-team tournament with a group stage involving four groups of four teams each, followed by a knockout stage commencing with the quarterfinals, making for a total of 32 matches. A stadium with a minimum seating requirement of 3,000 is required. The pitch dimensions are 37 meters by 28 meters. The surface must be made of sand, and be smooth, level and free of pebbles, shells and any other objects or dangerous elements that could injure players.
