Inside Track
The 2022 National Horseshoe Pitchers Association World Horseshoe Tournament, a two-week event, will begin as early as the second week of July and end no later than the first week of August. Hosts should allow a minimum of three to four days prior to the start of the tournament for set-up. The first week will be the World Tournament and Junior/Cadet Championships with second week featuring the Tournament and World Championship Rounds. Events will be staged Monday to Saturday each week. The event attracts 1,000–1,600 horseshoe pitchers over the entire two weeks. A venue with a minimum of 50,000 square feet is required and requires adequate distance and walking space to accommodate 50–60 sets of portable horseshoe courts. A meeting room to hold about 200 members and delegates on the first Sunday of the event is also required. The event averages three to five room nights per participant, with 550 peak room nights.
