The bid process is ongoing
TheNational Intercollegiate Running Club Association is looking for a location for its April 2022 track and field and half marathon national championship. NIRCA, the national governing body for collegiate running clubs, is a nonprofit founded in 2006 and run by volunteers with the mission of creating networking and competition opportunities for college runners. The preferred date is the first or second week of April with approximately 1,700 athletes for track and field expected and up to 400 runners in the half marathon. The organization needs a facility that has a steeplechase pit, university-length runways for long jump events, a track with at least eight lanes and a road half-marathon hosted within a 45-minutedrive. Locations in the West, far South, and far Northeast are not being considered at this time.
