U.S. Ski and Snowboard has entered into a partnership with Alli Sports, the action sports arm of the NBC Sports Group, and will sanction its Dew Tour iON Mountain Championships. The partnership makes the event, scheduled to take place December 12–15 in Breckenridge, Colorado, one of five competitions that will be used to nominate the U.S. halfpipe snowboarding, halfpipe skiing, slopestyle skiing and slopestyle snowboarding teams for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.

“The Dew Tour and USSA partnership makes our event bigger and more significant to the athletes, industry and fans,” said Dew Tour General Manage Kenny Mitchell. “The Dew Tour is a top-tier event with significant broadcast and digital exposure. Now it’s among events being used for USSA team selection process, which is a great development for the industry and fans and drives home the importance of the Dew Tour iON Mountain Championships.”

The other four events will take place as a part of the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix.

“The addition of a fifth event to be used for Olympic selection will be an important complement to our established calendar and greatly aid in the fair selection of our 2014 Olympic Team,” said Jeremy Foster, USSA Freeskiing/Snowboard Director.

Both the Dew Tour and the Grand Prix will be broadcast on NBC and NBCSN. Live coverage will also be available on DewTour.com and the USSA Network on Youtube.
