SportsTravel is proud to partner with the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee to provide this update on Team USA events taking place this week. Below are upcoming events and information on how to learn more.

77th GOODE Water Ski National Championships

Date: August 6–10

Venue: Okeeheelee Park; West Palm Beach, Florida

Event description: More than 600 of the nation’s top water ski athletes will compete in the slalom, tricks, jumping and overall divisions in their respective age divisions plus two open divisions. Nationals is the largest three-event water ski tournament in the world, with advancement to nationals earned through the national rankings list; placing in the top five at a regional event; or placing in the top five at the previous year’s nationals.

Number of athletes/participants: Up to 1,000

U.S. Gymnastics Championships

Date: August 8–11

Venue: Sprint Center, Kansas City, Missouri

Event description: The four-day championship event features the country’s best gymnasts vying for national titles and national team berths both in all-around and individual events. The U.S. Championships traditionally serves as part of the selection process for the U.S. men’s and women’s teams going to the World Championships.

Number of athletes/participants: 140 athletes and 300 participants

Number of spectators: 22,489

45th Indmar Division 1 Show Ski National Championships

Date: August 9–11

Venue: Hidden Lake, Wasaw, Indiana

Event description: Fourteen teams will compete for the national title. Each team has one hour to present a theatrical performance on water skills in the competitive show skiing category, and judges score the acts with points based on originality, presentation and execution. In addition to the overall competition, athletes will compete individually in swivel, adagio doubles, freestyle jumping and team jumping. There will be elaborate costumes and staging with music as an announcer leads the audience through the show.

Number of athletes/participants: 14 teams with more than 1,500 participants

Number of spectators: 3,000

USA Triathlon Age Group National Championship

Date: August 10–11

Venue: Voice of America Park, Lake Erie, Cleveland, Ohio

Event description: USA Triathlon is headed back to West Chester, Ohio, for the eighth consecutive year with the 2019 Youth & Junior National Championships. Youth athletes ages 7–19 from of all experience levels are invited to participate in this event, which has sold out for the last five years, with nearly 1,000 athletes competing for national titles annually. The two-day event is contained within Voice of America Park and supported through a strong partnership with the Butler County Visitors Bureau and other community organizations.

Number of athletes/participants: 6,000

Number of spectators: 18,000

WBSC Under-19 Women’s World Cup

Date: August 11–17

Venue: Irvine, California

Event description: The United States will seek to win its third straight championship in the age division. The U.S. team is in a preliminary group with Mexico, Czech Republic and Botswana. The top two finishers from each group advance to the eight-team Super Round, and the top two teams from the Super Rounds will compete for the championship.

Number of athletes/participants: 16 teams per event
