Construction Underway for South Carolina’s USL Soccer Stadium
The 6,000–seat venue will house the Greenville Triumph and Greenville Liberty FC
Posted On: September 24, 2025 By :Construction is officially underway on the permanent home for the Greenville Triumph and Greenville Liberty United Soccer League teams in Upstate South Carolina. The multi-use stadium at the BridgeWay Station mixed–use development in Mauldin is slated to host its first matches in 2026.
The project is a public–private partnership, made possible through an investment of $4 million from the city of Mauldin, $10 million from the state of South Carolina, and more than $13.5 million from Greenville Pro Soccer, along with millions in donated land and planning, development and coordination contributions from BridgeWay Station developer Hughes Investments. McCullers Group serves as owner’s representative for Greenville Pro Soccer on the project.
“From day one, our goal has been to create an unforgettable matchday experience for Triumph and Liberty fans, and this new stadium delivers on that promise,” said Wallace Cheves, chairman of Greenville Pro Soccer, the teams’ ownership group. “Not only will supporters enjoy an electric atmosphere inside the stadium, but BridgeWay Station will give them a true destination before and after the match, with restaurants, shops, and gathering spaces that make gameday an all-day celebration. This is more than just a home for our teams — it’s a place for families, friends, and fans across the Upstate to come together.”
The stadium will accommodate up to 6,300 people, hosting men’s and women’s soccer and serving as a stage for youth and college sports, concerts, festivals, marching band competitions and community events.
The design will mirror BridgeWay Station’s architecture, featuring grand columns, ornamental cornices, Italian-inspired towers and expansive archways that will serve as grand entrances into the stadium.
The Greenville Triumph, a men’s team founded in 2019, are currently 10th in the USL League One standings. Greenville Liberty FC, a women’s team that began play in 2022, finished second in the South Central Division of the USL W League standings in 2025.
“The start of construction is always an exciting moment on projects like these,” said McCullers Group President Mark McCullers. “It’s a major milestone for Greenville Pro Soccer, its fans, and all the stakeholders who’ve committed so much to making this project a reality. Now it’s about ensuring everything comes together, and that’s the most important part.”
