CSMG Expands Esports Event to India
The company that operates the U.S. collegiate event will now go global
Posted On: October 20, 2025 By :Collegiate Sports Management Group, owner and operator of the Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup, has announced its first international licensing partnership that will bring CECC May Madness and its scholastic esports ecosystem to India. The collaboration marks the beginning of CECC’s global expansion, empowering Indian students and institutions to participate in esports while establishing a nationwide competitive infrastructure for scholastic gaming.
CSMG will team up on the deal with Acceler Edtech Private Limited, which owns and manages Asymmetrical Learning led by Siddharth Rahalkar.
As the inaugural international licensing partner, Asymmetrical Learning will work with CSMG to develop scholastic gaming infrastructure and competitive programming in India that will be modeled after CECC May Madness in the United States. That tournament now spans more than 800 campuses and is entering its sixth official season.
The two companies will form CECC India, enabling local universities to launch esports programs, compete in season-long events, and gain access to adjacent commercial opportunities. CECC India will mark the first licensed expansion of CECC outside of the United States, with an initial event series launching in Spring 2026. Featured game titles for CECC India will be confirmed at a later date.
“This partnership represents a major milestone in our mission to build scholastic esports globally,” said Michael Schreck, CEO of CSMG. “India has one of the fastest growing esports and gaming communities in the world, and by bringing CECC May Madness to this market, we can help accelerate scholastic gaming opportunities for students while connecting brands, schools, and fans in new ways.”
Asymmetrical Learning will leverage its relationships to secure sponsorships, build institutional engagement, and coordinate local partnerships, while CSMG will provide licensing, event services, broadcast, marketing and tournament operations support.
“We are thrilled to partner with CSMG to launch CECC May Madness in India,” said Rahalkar, founder and CEO of Asymmetrical Learning. “The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, has created a supportive framework by recognizing esports as a legitimate sport and encouraging its educational and social value. India’s students are passionate about gaming, but scholastic infrastructure is still emerging. With CSMG, we will bring world-class standards that give students a platform to compete, connect, and grow into globally recognized careers.”
CECC May Madness is recognized as the premier collegiate esports championship in North America, uniting conferences, institutions, and student gamers under one flagship event. The 2025 edition of the CECC May Madness in the United States hosted over 24 conference partners in Arlington, Texas, and set multiple engagement records for live attendance and viewers.
