Discover Monroe-West Monroe to Host Two Table Tennis Events
West Monroe Sports & Events facility will welcome 160 youth players
Posted On: May 19, 2025 By :Discover Monroe-West Monroe will host the 2025 National Scholastic Table Tennis Championship, in partnership with the American Youth Table Tennis Organization, May 24–26 in West Monroe, Louisiana.
The event is the largest youth team tournament in the country and will take place at the West Monroe Sports & Events facility, bringing in top schools from eight states, including Louisiana.
“The Monroe-West Monroe team is the most professional people we have worked with,” said Thomas Hu, AYTTO event director. “They are problem solvers. Their team was able to find many solutions for us to make this event possible.”

The championship is divided into two tournaments: the George Braithwaite Major League Table Tennis Championship and AYTTO Scholastic Table Tennis Nationals Championship. The organization expects about 160 players, plus family members, on the Memorial Day weekend for both competitions.
The tournament’s estimated economic impact for Ouachita Parish is $158,000, with 325 hotel rooms during both events.
