Fayetteville to Host 2028 NJCAA Women’s Golf Championship

The competition will be staged at Gates Four Golf & County Club

Fayetteville, North Carolina, has been awarded the 2028 NJCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship, with the event to be staged at Gates Four Golf & Country Club.

The event will be held May 8–11, 2028, and is expected to include 15 teams, attracting an estimated 90 to 120 players. The event is projected to generate about 350 room nights, more than $144,000 in total business sales, and about $5,200 in local taxes. In addition to players and coaches, the event is expected to draw parents, fans and supporters to Fayetteville for up to a week.

“We are excited to move the tournament toward the East Coast, and Fayetteville, N.C., is a beautiful location,” said Jim Gerwitz, the NJCAA’s DI women’s golf chair. “The facility and the course are top-notch, our student-athletes will definitely have a wonderful championship experience.”

Gates Four features an 18-hole championship golf course with bent-grass greens, renovated bunkers, and fairways lined with tall pine trees. Built by Willard Byrd in 1967, the course underwent a renovation by Kris Spence in 2011.
