FIFA has partnered with Netflix and Delphi Interactive for a newly reimagined FIFA football simulation game to be released exclusively on Netflix Games ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Through the game, Netflix subscribers will be able to experience the emotion and drama of the tournament by playing solo or with their friends online, while their phone will serve as their controller.

“The FIFA World Cup is going to be the cultural event of 2026, and now fans will be able to celebrate their fandom by bringing the game right into their living rooms,” said Alain Tascan, president of games at Netflix. “We want to bring football back to its roots with something everyone can play with just the touch of a button.”

“FIFA is very excited to team up with Netflix Games and Delphi Interactive ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “This major collaboration is a key milestone in FIFA’s commitment to innovation in the football gaming space, which aspires to reach billions of football fans of all ages everywhere in the world and will be redefining the pure notion of simulation games.

“Our reimagined game truly marks the beginning of a new era of digital football. It will be available for free to Netflix members and is a great historic step for FIFA.”

“Football is the biggest thing in the world,” said Casper Daugaard, founder and CEO of Delphi Interactive. “As lifelong FIFA fans, we’re honoured to help usher in the bold, next generation and reimagine the future of the franchise. Our mission is simple: make the FIFA game the most fun, approachable, and global football game ever created.”

Netflix Games primarily publishes a mix of both third-party titles and games based on its original shows, as opposed to developing its own games in house, while Delphi Interactive is also new to developing games. As well as the new official FIFA football simulation game, Delphi Interactive is contributing as an ‘architect’ to IO Interactive’s new James Bond-themed game, 007: First Light.

The new FIFA game will join recently released titles as part of a suite of games that Netflix members can find on TV alongside their favourite shows and movies, using their phones as a controller. It will be available on select TVs in certain countries, with plans to roll out further over time, according to FIFA.

In 2022, FIFA and previous video game partner EA Sports terminated their partnership that had lasted for almost 30 years. The split was largely attributed to disagreements over licensing fees, leading EA to move away and start its own independent brand series called EA Sports FC.

FIFA and Roblox Partnership

Meanwhile, FIFA has also announced an extended partnership with Roblox for a new official game, FIFA Super Soccer. The deal has been made possible by another FIFA partnership with metaverse media company Gamefam, which already produces Super League Soccer with 9.5 million monthly active users. That title has now been rebranded to FIFA Super Soccer.

The move is part of FIFA’s expanding footprint in the gaming segment.

After first announcing a partnership with FIFA in 2022, Roblox has established itself as a platform for brands including sports properties and organisations, and it now attracts more than 151 million daily active users.

The new official FIFA game in partnership with Roblox will enable players to compete with official national teams and popular clubs, join events aligned with top global leagues, mark the road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup and unlock exclusive gear to outfit their avatars.

The offering will open up opportunities for FIFA partner brands, including adidas. 14 adidas partner football clubs can now be played in FIFA Super Soccer via a new event: the adidas Football Festival, a four-week long activation featuring Flamengo, Boca Juniors, Club América, Aston Villa, Union Berlin, Al Nassr and more.

“Roblox has shown us how powerfully it can bring fans together and expand football culture,” said Christian Volk, director of gaming and esports at FIFA. “Working with Gamefam allows us to build a genuine football space on the platform.

“This collaboration supports our broader push into gaming, helps us create new and authentic experiences for fans, and opens up more opportunities for partners to engage as we look toward the FIFA World Cup 2026.”

“Our continued partnership with FIFA and the launch of FIFA Super Soccer reinforces the growing opportunity for leagues and brands to reach young fans in authentic, always-on environments,” said Lisa Willett, senior director of global strategic partnerships at Roblox. “With Roblox’s massive, highly engaged audience, sports experiences become 365-day destinations, not just moments tied to a gameday schedule.”

“Fans gather here during the off-season, countdown to major events, celebrate wins and stay connected to the culture that surrounds their favourite teams and athletes. We’re thrilled to expand this world, with more partners ahead.”

FIFA previously took over Super League Soccer for a limited-time event in June and July 2025 during this summer’s inaugural, reformed FIFA Club World Cup. At the same time, it became the largest official football event on Roblox with 20 million gameplay sessions and 5.5 million hours of engagement.

“Roblox is home to the biggest global Gen Z and Alpha audiences, who aren’t just watching but actively engaging in sports, entertainment and culture,” said Ricardo Briceno, chief business officer at Gamefam. We’re honoured to partner with FIFA to help ignite the next wave of fandom with FIFA Super Soccer as a key pillar of FIFA’s gaming strategy.”

FIFA Super Soccer can be played for free across consoles, PCs, mobile and tablets.
