Formula One has reached a 10-year extension to continue racing in Las Vegas through 2037. The deal was reached with Clark County, Las Vegas Grand Prix Inc., and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix debuted in 2023 and immediately became one of the most anticipated events on the F1 calendar, with racers tearing down the famous Strip and illuminated by the Sphere at more than 200 mph. The initial deal was for three years, which was followed by a two-year extension.

“We are thrilled that Formula 1 will continue racing in Las Vegas for many years to come,” said Stefano Domenicali, president and CEO of Formula 1. “We always believed that Las Vegas would become a cornerstone of our presence in the United States, and this extension, together with the success of recent years, reinforces our long-term commitment to this important market.”
The 2026 edition of the race will once again take place in November at the 3.8-mile track that has already become famous enough to be featured in the film, F1: The Movie. Last year’s race generated a reported $43 million in state and local tax revenue.

Evolution of Sports in Las Vegas

“Extending our partnership with Formula 1 for the next decade is a major moment for both Las Vegas and the Grand Prix,” said Steve Hill, president and CEO of LVCVA. “In just three years, the race has become a signature global event – putting Las Vegas at the center of culture, competition and entertainment during race week. As the spotlight of the world turns to Las Vegas, the event continues to reinforce our evolution as a premier sports and entertainment destination.”

Indeed, the Vegas Golden Knights are currently in the Stanley Cup Final for the third time in their nine years of existence, the College Football Playoff national championship game will be at Allegiant Stadium in January, and the Super Bowl returns to Las Vegas in 2029, one year after MLB’s Athletics are scheduled to relocate to the city and give it teams in the NFL, NHL and MLB.

Max Verstappen won the Las Vegas Grand Prix in both 2023 and 2025 and in ’24 he clinched his fourth consecutive F1A Formula One World Drivers’ Championship at the event while George Russell finished first in the race itself.

Part of the venue in Vegas includes a purpose-built facility called Grand Prix Plaza, a 39-acre, multiuse complex. Formula 1 is the promoter and host of the event, a rarity for the circuit which will continue to have three races in the U.S.: the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, and the Miami Grand Prix being the other two.
