The bid by the German Football Association (DFB) beat off competition from its counterpart in Poland, as well as a joint bid by the Danish and Swedish associations.

“I want to sincerely thank all three bid delegations for their tireless work and commitment throughout the process,” said Čeferin. “Each bid showcased vision and exceptional teamwork between national associations, governments and local experts, all inspired by the benchmark set by Switzerland last summer.

“Congratulations to Germany – we look forward to an unforgettable tournament in the summer of 2029!”

Tournament Format and Venues

The 16-team tournament, featuring four groups of four national teams, will take place in eight venues across Germany.

It will be the third time that the country has staged the UEFA Women’s European Championships. It previously hosted the tournament in 2001, and before that as West Germany in 1989.

England have won the last two Euros titles (in 2022 and 2025) and will be looking to win the competition for a third consecutive time.
