USA Triathlon has announced that the 30th annual Great Floridian Triathlon will be designated as the 2020 USA Triathlon National Ultra-Distance Championship. The race is scheduled for October 24, 2020, in Clermont, Florida.

Ultra-distance or full-distance triathlons include a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and a 26.2-mile run. The Great Floridian Triathlon, launched in 1991, is the nation’s longest full-distance marathon (non-Ironman licensed) and is the marquee event within the Floridian Multisport Festival, which includes multiple triathlon distances, a duathlon and aqua bike options.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to host the USA Triathlon Ultra-Distance National Championship during the 30th running of the Great Floridian Triathlon,” said Fred Sommer, event founder and longtime race director. “The national championship designation is a testament to the event’s rich history and longevity, the strong community support and the passion of the event management team.”
