IESF Announces Partnership with GirlGamer Esports Festival
Partnership begins at 14th annual world esports championship later this year
Posted On: June 21, 2022 By :The International Esports Federation has announced a new partnership with the GirlGamer Esports Festival to celebrate and promote women’s competitiveness in the esports industry.
As part of the new pairing, the first Women’s CS:GO Tournament will be held as part of the 14th IESF world championship. The best players from around the world will compete in regional qualifiers and the top four teams will advance to the finals in Bali, Indonesia, starting December 1 with a prize pool of $500,000.
“Creating more opportunities for women has always been one of our goals at GirlGamer,” said Organizer Telmo Silva. “With IESF we are taking a step forward and enabling these inspiring gamers to proudly represent their countries at the biggest world stage, which is the IESF World Championship.”
GirlGamer is the world’s first esports festival to celebrate and promote women’s competitiveness in esports. The organization and IESF will work together to further cement those values at numerous events and festivals all around the world. IESF earlier this year signed a memorandum of understanding with Women in Games, a non-profit organization that aims to build a fair, equal and safe environment to empower women in the global gaming community.
