Jason Suitt joins Visit Baton Rouge as Director of Sports Development
New executive has two decades of experience in college athletics
Posted On: July 19, 2023 By :Jason Suitt was recently named the new Director of Sports Development for Visit Baton Rouge and will be responsible for identifying, developing and executing an overall strategy for sports tourism in the Louisiana destination.
Suitt brings 21 years of experience in college athletics with marketing, promotions, advertising, sponsorship sales/activation, graphics & licensing and event production skills. He spent the past two years leading the sports marketing program at national multi-unit restaurant group Walk-Ons Sports Bistreaux, where he served as director of sports marketing and strategic partnerships.
“I am thrilled to join Visit Baton Rouge as the Director of Sports Development,” said Suitt. “Baton Rouge has enormous potential in the realm of sports tourism and I am excited to be a part of the team that will unlock its full potential. I look forward to collaborating with local stakeholders, organizations and partners to showcase Baton Rouge as a premier sports destination.”
Before his work with Walk-Ons, Suitt worked as assistant athletic director of fan engagement at LSU athletics and the director of marketing and licensing at University of Arkansas athletics. Suitt is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he earned a degree in sports administration.
