The NJCAA, along with the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau and Arkansas Parks, Heritage and Tourism, has announced the Arkansas destination as the location for the 2021, 2022, and 2023 NJCAA Football Championships at War Memorial Stadium.

The 2021 championship is scheduled for June 5 and will be televised nationally by CBS Sports Network. The last NJCAA Football Championship was held at Carnie Smith Stadium in Pittsburg, Kansas, in December 2019. The 2020 season was postponed and moved to the spring of 2021 due to COVID-19.

“The NJCAA cannot think of a better place than Little Rock to host the upcoming football championships for our dedicated fans and student-athletes,” said Christopher Parker, NJCAA president and chief executive officer. “War Memorial Stadium’s iconic facility and atmosphere align with our mission to provide opportunities and the best overall experience possible. We look forward to having our championship in a destination city like Little Rock.”

War Memorial Stadium, located in Little Rock, Arkansas, has played host to major college football games, concerts and events for 70 years. The stadium has gone through several renovations since opening in 1948. It currently holds over 54,000 for football games and is the secondary home for Arkansas Razorbacks games.

“We look forward to the NJCAA National Championship games coming to historic War Memorial Stadium to join a long tradition of classic football competitions,” said Stacy Hurst, secretary for Arkansas Parks, Heritage and Tourism. “The economic impact of events like these is substantial and always benefits Central Arkansas. At the same time, we’re proud to showcase our improved stadium and allow these football fans to experience some great Arkansas hospitality.”

The stadium occasionally hosts Razorback home games and is home to collegiate and high school competitions, concerts, speakers and entertainment.

“We are excited to be partnering with the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism in welcoming the 2021-2023 NJCAA Football Championships to the iconic War Memorial Stadium in the heart of Little Rock,” said Gretchen Hall, Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau president and chief executive officer. “As we begin to bring group business back, being able to host this prestigious national program for three consecutive years and showcase our destination is a huge win for the city.”
