The LPGA has announced it will host the inaugural Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play Hosted by Shadow Creek in Las Vegas. The MGM Resorts International course will host the event May 26-30 for 64 players and feature a $1.5 million prize purse.

The Los Angeles-based Bank of Hope previously served as title sponsor of the Bank of Hope Founders Cup from 2017 to 2019.

“We are extremely pleased to once again partner with the LPGA and inaugurate a highly anticipated LPGA match-play competition as title sponsor of the Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play Hosted by Shadow Creek,” said Kevin S. Kim, chairman and chief executive officer of Bank of Hope. “This event combines the top female golfers with one of the most exclusive golf courses in the country in a unique match-play format. We look forward to working closely with the LPGA and Shadow Creek to create one of the Tour’s most exciting and successful events of 2021 and beyond.”

Shadow Creek is a Tom Fazio-designed course built in 1989. In 2018, it hosted The Match: Tiger vs. Phil and in October 2020 it hosted the PGA Tour’s CJ Cup. This will be the first LPGA event at the course.

“Shadow Creek, one of golf’s premier courses, will be an ideal setting for the world’s best women golfers,” said George Kliavkoff, president of entertainment and sports for MGM Resorts International. “The LPGA Tour’s match-play event in May provides us with another opportunity to demonstrate why MGM Resorts and Las Vegas are the leaders in the sports and entertainment industry.”

The event will be the LPGA’s first match-play event since 2017.
