Orlando Metropolitan Area to Host Major Youth Soccer Tournaments

Boys and Girls ENCL events bring over 7,000 participants to Seminole County region

A regular host for Boys and Girls Elite Clubs National League soccer events has signed a multiyear agreement to continue holding two big events through 2023, bringing more than 7,000 participants to the Orlando, Florida, metropolitan area.

The agreement with the ECNL will keep the organization’s events in Seminole County for the next four years, building on an existing relationship. The Boys ENCL Florida event was already scheduled for the Orlando area in December 2019, with the Girls ENCL event following in January 2020.

The new deal gives both tournaments, which draw over 350 youth soccer teams and hundreds of college coaches across the country—and generate 5,000 room nights—a longtime home. The agreement was announced by the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, Orlando North Seminole County, Orlando City Youth Soccer, and the Boys and Girls ECNL.

“With all the excitement generated by the 2019 MLS All-Star Game here in Greater Orlando, we couldn’t think of a better time to announce the continuation of our longstanding partnership with the Boys and Girls ECNL,” said Jason Siegel, CEO of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.

The Boys and Girls ECNL are U.S. Club Soccer-sanctioned organizations that work to provide competition and exposure for youth players. Both are sponsored by major corporate organizations; the boys by Puma and the girls by Nike.

“The ECNL is excited to extend our strong partnership with Seminole County to bring the Boys and Girls ECNL National Events back to Sanford,” ECNL Commissioner Jen Winnagle said, noting the location of the Seminole Sports Complex. “Orlando North Seminole County, the Greater Orlando Sports Commission and Orlando City Youth Soccer help to make this a great experience for players, coaches and fans, and with their support we truly look forward to hosting future events.”

The Greater Orlando Sports Commission works to bring sports-related events and activities to the city of Orlando and surrounding counties, including the Orlando North Seminole County Sports Complex. Orlando City Youth Soccer is affiliated with Major League Soccer’s Orlando City SC, operating teams and leagues for youths in the region plus owning the Seminole Soccer Complex.
