Random Selection Draw Phase Opens for 2026 FIFA World Cup
The ticketing phase will remain open until January 13 at 11:00 ET / 17:00 CET
Posted On: December 12, 2025 By :The Random Selection Draw ticketing phase for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States has now opened, and will remain open through to January 13 at 11:00 ET (17:00 CET).
It marks the first phase when fans will be able to apply for single-match tickets based on who is playing whom, where and when for group-stage matches, following last week’s Final World Cup Draw and Match Schedule Reveal.
The prices of tickets have been set for both the general public and team supporters throughout the current sales phase.
It also marks the third phase of ticket sales for the expanded 48-team tournament, as nearly two million tickets have been made available and purchased so far — either through the Visa Presale Draw and the Early Ticket Draw, which closed last month.
The timing of a fan’s entry into the Random Selection Draw will not impact their chances of success in securing tickets, according to FIFA, which has also promised that ticket prices will remain the same throughout the current sales phase.
How to Enter The Random Selection Draw
Fans with an existing FIFA ID are being encouraged to log in using those credentials and then enter the Random Selection Draw, even if they have previously entered prior ticket draws. Those without an existing FIFA ID should create an account at this link, the official source of tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to get started.
Fans will be able to select which match(es), respective ticket category(ies), and number of tickets per match they would like to purchase, subject to household restrictions. All successful and partially successful (a fan will receive the number of tickets requested to a match, but not all matches requested) ticket applicants will be contacted via email and subsequently be charged for their tickets in February.
Fans of specific national teams may also be eligible to apply for Participating Member Association Supporter tickets at this link from December 11, should they meet their PMA eligibility criteria. Each PMA sets its own criteria for fans to be recognised as PMA supporters and establishes its own process for applying for PMA Supporter tickets.
Additional Packages
Hospitality packages are also on sale for those looking for premium, elevated matchday experiences through On Location, the Official Hospitality Provider of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Qatar Airways is currently offering all-inclusive travel packages for travellers heading to the FIFA World Cup, which include match tickets, transport, hotel stays and flights.
Meanwhile, tickets will also be available for purchase via the FIFA Resale/Exchange Marketplace from December 15.
While FIFA has not confirmed the final prices of tickets, it did previously say that tickets for group-stage matches would begin from $60, with the most expensive reaching peaks of $6,730.
Meanwhile, hospitality tickets are expected to range from around $3,500 to $73,200.
According to NBC, the cost for group-stage matches involved the United States and Canada were already beginning at around $1,100, while matches involving Mexico, the third co-host country, were beginning at $2,600 on sites such as StubHub.
Tickets have already reportedly been sold using dynamic pricing methods (for the first time at a FIFA World Cup) but the governing body now hints that it is moving away from the practice.
On the same day as the opening of the Random Selection Draw ticketing phase, President Donald Trump announced that foreign tourists would be required to hand over the past five years of their social media account history in order to enter the United States, including during the World Cup. It is part of the President’s latest border crackdown on “anti-American” visitors.
