Rising Up in the Great Plains

On the vast Great Plains, communities rose out of determination and a strong work ethic, two qualities that also developed the region’s sports scene, which can boast its fair share of championship teams, athletes and venues. And a big plus to holding a sports event in the Heartland is its location—when participants are spread out across the nation, it pays to meet up in the middle.
