Calendar will start in Australia with one stop in the United States over 11-month season
Posted On: June 26, 2025 By :SailGP has released further details of its 2026 schedule including the return of fan-favorite locations, multi-year hosting agreements secured across all regions and the introduction of a regional structure.
The Rolex SailGP Championship will set sail in Perth, Auckland, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Bermuda, New York, Halifax, Portsmouth, Saint-Tropez and Dubai, followed by the winner-takes-all Grand Final in Abu Dhabi.
“As we reach the halfway point of the current season, it’s thrilling to look ahead to 2026 and unveil the next stage in the Rolex SailGP Championship,” SailGP Chief Executive Officer Sir Russell Coutts said. “Destinations like New York and Saint-Tropez have become cornerstone events of the Rolex SailGP calendar, and these established venues — alongside others — are a pivotal aspect of our ongoing global expansion. We’re looking forward to our most expansive calendar to date, as we continue to deliver high-intensity racing to fans across the globe.”
Beginning in January and unfolding over an Il-month period, the 2026 season will start in Australia in January 2026 before going to Auckland and then Sydney. The season will then move to a tour of North and South America that will include SailGP’s third visit to New York, Bermuda, the return to Halifax and a stopover in Rio de Janeiro.
From there will be a European summer with returns to Portsmouth and Saint-Tropez confirmed as well as an additional European event to be confirmed. The SailGP Championship will come to a close with back-to-back events in the UAE in November.
The 2026 season continues SailGP’s progression toward a consistent, regionalized format. Multi-year hosting agreements are set the stage for 2027 and beyond, with regional groupings starting in the Asia-Pacific and finishing in the Middle East reducing travel distances and improving operational efficiencies.
The 2024–2025 season runs over a 12-month period from November 2024 to November 2025 including three SailGP events in the United States. The Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix took March 15–16, followed the next week by the San Francisco Sail Grand Prix from March 22–23. The final American race — Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix — was June 7–8.
