Snohomish County Releases 2023 Economic Impact Numbers
County reported hosting 100 sporting events which generated $27.8 million
Posted On: April 16, 2024 By :Snohomish County in Washington has released its economic impact numbers from 2023, as the county reported hosting 100 sporting events which generated $27.8 million in economic impact and generated 29,681 room nights.
“Sports tourism has a positive impact in a community,” said Tammy Dunn, executive director of Snohomish County Sports Commission. “With the impact of sports tourism in Snohomish County, our community is experiencing this positive impact that sports have. In 2024, Snohomish County is hosting several national sporting events including WWA Wakeboard & Wake Surf Nationals and USA Softball 14U-18U Class B Western Nationals.”
The sporting events overall brought 144,266 visitors to Snohomish County. In 2023, multiple sporting events were held on the same weekend throughout the region. In one weekend in particular, Snohomish County hosted US Australian Football Western Regionals, Lake Stevens Pickleball Classic and Everett 3on3 Basketball Tournament presented by Boeing.
Snohomish County Sports Commission worked with many local sports organizations who host annual sporting events. Local sports organizations the Sports Commission team worked with include Perfect Game Northwest, Snohomish Youth Soccer Club, National Softball Association of Washington, DYSports, Seattle Metro JO and Kayak Point Disc Golf Resort.
