Snoop Dogg, the darling of recent Olympics-related coverage on NBC, has a new role with the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee – honorary coach. The entertainment legend and entrepreneur becomes the first person to be bestowed with the title.

In the volunteer role, he will join the USOPC staff, coaches, medical experts, administrators and partners to celebrate and support athletes off the field of play. The position will begin for the upcoming 2026 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games in Milan-Cortinia, Italy, and is in addition to the on-air role he play during NBC’s coverage.

“Team USA athletes are the real stars—I’m just here to cheer, uplift and maybe drop a little wisdom from the sidelines,” said the entertainer, who will be known in the role as “Coach Snoop.” “This team represents the best of what sport can be: talent, heart and hustle. If I can bring a little more love and motivation to that, that’s a win for me.”

“From the moment Snoop met Team USA athletes, there was an instant connection—mutual respect, genuine curiosity and a lot of laughter,” said USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland. “His enthusiasm for the Olympic and Paralympic movement is contagious, and we’re thrilled to officially welcome him as a member of the Team Behind the Team.”

Snoop Dogg has been active over his career in a variety of sports-related volunteer roles. His Snoop Youth Football League has supported more than 15,000 athletes, including youth with disabilities. He has also been a champion of the idea that preparing for greatness is about mindset, mentorship, and having the right support system, concepts he is expected to lean into with new role with the USOPC.

He is also planning to raise awareness for the Team USA Fund, the official fundraising arm of the USOPC that provides direct resources to help athletes reach their potential. One hundred percent of gifts to the fund go to athletes and the programs that support them—from mental health and education to training, competition and career-transition support. He will also partner with Fanatics on a Coach Snoop × Team USA collection, with a portion of proceeds supporting Team USA. The collection will launch this month.
