Here you will find a list of events that are actively seeking hosts, with RFPs from regional, national and international sports-event organizers who are looking to partner with destinations in the future. To find out about each item below, click on “More Information” to get details about what the event organizer is looking for, as well as a complete RFP with even more specifications about the event including venue requirements, hotel needs and fees associated with bidding.

Døds Diving League

Bid Deadline: June 12, 2026

The Døds Diving League, an extreme sport, is “introducing our next-generation Host City Partnership Program” and looking for cities interested in hosting in 2027, ’28 and ’29.

The league is expecting to bring more than 3,000 spectators and 32 participants to whichever city lands the event. They need one swimming pool with a 10m diving platform or a natural body of water. MORE INFORMATION

2027 & 2028 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Opening Round

Bid Deadline: June 12, 2026

The NCAA is now accepting bids for the newly announced second March Madness Opening Round site for the 2027 and 2028 Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. The bids are available via the NCAA Bid Portal and include the March Madness Opening Round bid specifications as well as all of the other documents required for bid submission. All of the bid documents must be completed including signed hotel agreements in order to be considered for selection. MORE INFORMATION

2028 Horseshoe Pitching World Championship

Bid Deadline: July 1, 2026

The National Horseshoe Pitchers Association World Championships brings upward of over 1,000 athletes to compete in the two-week event, pending entries, with 500-750 hotel nights on peak at some locations. There is a need for an indoor convention center with minimum of 50,000 square feet of air-conditioned, column free, concrete space. MORE INFORMATION

NECC Esports Nationals

Bid Deadline: August 1, 2026

The 2026–2027 academic year will culminate with the NECC Nationals — a gathering of some of the premier esports programs, players and teams competing to win the NECC National Championships. The Nationals will bring together an estimated 1,000 players from throughout North America. A venue is being sought that will accommodate a place for competition, as well as a space for college esports directors and other attendees to meet and collaborate. The event will be held at the end of the spring semester (college / university calendar) so sometime between mid-to-late April and mid-to-late May. MORE INFORMATION

JACKALOPE Festival 2027—2029

Bid Deadline: November 30, 2026

TRIBU USA Inc is seeking host cities and skatepark venues for its CONCEPT JACKALOPE in 2027 and 2029, a three-day long festival on the beach that features skateboarding competitions, base jumping demos, a highline speed race, Moto X Freestyle demos, live music, DJs, food trucks, after parties and more.

The ideal venue would have basic elements such as rails, stairs, half-pipes, boxes and obstacles, as well as park grounds for pop-up tents, food trucks and beer gardens. MORE INFORMATION

2028 USA Powerlifting Raw And Collegiate Nationals

Bid Deadline: November 30, 2026

The USA Powerlifting Raw Nationals attracts hundreds of competitors who participate in various weight classes and divisions, including youth, junior, and masters categories. The USA Powerlifting Collegiate Nationals is a premier event that showcases the strength and competitive spirit of college powerlifting athletes across the nation. MORE INFORMATION

2028 USA Curling Men’s and Women’s National Championships

Bid Deadline: October 31, 2026

The USA Curling National Championships host the best men’s and women’s teams from across the country to compete for the Men’s and Women’s National Championship titles and advance to represent the United States at the Men’s and Women’s World Curling Championship. The event includes a five-day ice install, followed by competition on Monday, January 31 – Sunday, February 6. MORE INFORMATION

2030 USA Gymnastics Championships

Bid Deadline: May 31, 2027

USA Gymnastics is seeking a host city for the 2030 USA Gymnastics Championships, a premier five-day national competition combining three Junior Olympic Championships across Rhythmic, Acrobatic, and Trampoline & Tumbling gymnastics, along with an exciting senior elite combined competition in a single arena. The event will crown national champions and name national teams for World Championship and World Cup assignments. Approximately 1,700 athletes and 600 coaches, judges, and staff from across the country will participate. MORE INFORMATION
