“Golf has always been one of the most powerful vehicles to spark professional and social conversations,” said Curry. “We are lucky to collaborate with our amazing partners at KPMG who work with our Underrated Golf team to design engaging programs and opportunities for our junior golfers. Each year, we set out to provide underrepresented individuals access to the game who have never had it before, along with invaluable opportunities and benefits that come with the game of golf.

“However, Underrated Golf is so much more than just the sport. This special program prioritizes off-course endeavors including special seminars that focus on a multitude of disciplines with an emphasis on business ethics, and various career opportunities across the golf industry and beyond.”

At each event, 96 athletes will participate in tournament-style events and team building activities while networking with college golf coaches and golf executives. After the four Tour stops, 24 of the best boys and girls will compete for the Curry Cup at the Underrated Tour Championship — which for the first time will be outside the Bay Area, moving to The Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey, September 2–5.

The Tour is sponsored by audit, tax and advisory firm KPMG, which will work with Underrated Golf in an effort to advance equity, access and opportunity for underrepresented and underrated youth in the sport of golf. LPGA Tour player and KPMG brand ambassador Mariah Stackhouse will serve as a brand ambassador for the Tour and host KPMG Leadership Day at the Curry Cup.

“The experience at Curry Cup and the KPMG Leadership Development Day last year was special,” said Stackhouse. “Underrated is about so much more than golf. It’s about a shared goal of empowering the next generation in meaningful ways by imparting the critical success factors that go into winning, far beyond what you see in a final score. I’m honored to be part of this family alongside Steph and my friends at KPMG and look forward to elevating Underrated even further this year.”

The top three boy and top three girl winners from last season have been invited to play at Walton Heath Golf Club near Walton-on-the-Hill southwest of London, for the Underrated Golf Europe season-opening tournament. Additionally, the top boy and girl winners from the London tournament will automatically win entry into the 2024 Curry Cup.
