SportsTravel is proud to partner with the U.S. Olympic Committee to provide this update on Team USA events taking place this week. Below are upcoming events and information on how to learn more.

 

USA Baseball National Team Identification Series (NTIS)

Date: August 22–26 (11U/14U/17U)

Venue: USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina

Event description: The National Team Identification Series is the most comprehensive player identification program offered by USA Baseball. Sixteen regional teams from across the country will compete in their respective age groups at the NTIS event at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. From the event, USA Baseball will invite a minimum of 68 players to future National Team Trials, National Team Development Program (NTDP) and Tournament of Stars opportunities.

Streamed/Broadcast Information: Each age level’s gold medal game (13U: August 12; 15U and 16U: August 19; 11U and 14U: August 26) will be streamed live on usabaseball.com and facebook.com/usabaseball.


World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC)
Women’s Baseball World Cup

Date: August 22–31

Venue: USSSA Space Coast Complex in Viera, Florida

Event description: The United States is hosting the biannual international women’s baseball world championship tournament for the first time. The USA Baseball Women’s National Team will participate in the event.

Number of athletes/participants: 12 teams

U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship

Date: August 23–26

Venue: St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, California

Event description: Founded in 1974, the U.S. Women’s Open Championship served the interest of female sailors who wished to compete against other women at the national level in double and singlehanded boats. The regattas were organized along traditional one design racing lines where boat preparation is a factor, and no eliminations were required. A boardsailing championship was added in 1981. A one-day clinic typically preceded the three-day championship regatta.
