Event description: The pinnacle for U.S. Bowling Congress Junior Gold members is competing at the annual Junior Gold Championships for a chance to represent the United States in international competition as part of USBC Junior Team USA. The Junior Gold Championships is the premier national youth sporting event where individuals qualify at the grass-roots level. The tournament provides more than $300,000 in scholarships on an annual basis, while providing an incredible social experience and crowning champions in six age-based divisions.

Number of athletes/participants:

2017 – 3,554 athletes
2018 – Estimated 3,800 athletes

Number of spectators (in venue and online):

On average, athletes travel to the event with 2.5 guests.

2017 – 8,885
2018 – Estimated 9,500

Regarding online spectators, bowl.com/juniorgold has more than 1.4 million page views annually, with 80 percent or more of that traffic coming in July when the tournament takes place.

When is the event up for bid again? Currently the tournament is booked through 2020. The bid process for host cities will begin again starting in August 2019. Due to tournament format size, only certain cities can hold the event. USBC is always looking for sponsors of the event. There is currently an endemic presenting sponsor, but no title sponsor. Additional opportunities are always available. The current presenting sponsorship is good through the 2020 event. The bid process will start again in January 2019.
