Tim Leiweke

Tim Leiweke has been named president and CEO of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, a Canadian organization that owns the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs, the NBA’s Toronto Raptors, the MLS’s Toronto FC and the AHL’s Toronto Marlies as well as Toronto’s Air Canada Center.

Leiweke brings more than 30 years of sports-business management experience to the position, most recently having served as the president and CEO of Anchutz Entertainment Group, which owns the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, the MLS’s Los Angeles Galaxy, Los Angeles’s Staples Center, L.A. Live and the Home Depot Center, as well as several other venues across the world.

“MLSE is woven into the character of Toronto. The loyal and passionate fans of MLSE’s teams want sports championships for this great city. They want excitement on the ice, on the court, on the pitch and on the stage. And they want MLSE to be an active part of their community. I am committed to delivering for them when I begin my new role as CEO of MLSE,” said Leiweke in a statement.

Leiweke will officially step into the role on June 30.
