The United States women’s national soccer team will play four matches in September and October throughout the Midwest to finish its 2021 schedule and serve as a Farewell Tour for Carli Lloyd, one of the greatest women’s players in history who plans to retire at year’s end.

The four-match tour includes two games against Paraguay in September and two games against South Korean in October. All matches will take place during FIFA international match windows and feature players from the 2020 Olympic Summer Games team that won a bronze medal in Tokyo. All the players and staffs will operate in monitored environments for the duration of the two-game series.

The September series includes games September 16 at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland and September 21 at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati. The October series has games October 21 at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas, and then October 26 at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota.

“The work never stops and every game we play has meaning,” said Coach Vlatko Andonovski. “These games are important to welcome back our Olympic Team to play in front of our home fans, but they are also the first steps towards 2023 World Cup qualifying. We all know we have to be at the top of our game to win at the highest levels and the dedication of the entire group to that pursuit will never change.”

Lloyd is currently the second-most capped player in world soccer history with 312 games played for the USA and has scored 128 international goals, fourth in USWNT history. She needs two goals to tie Kristine Lilly for third all-time.
