USA Baseball has become the latest national governing body to partner with TeachAids, which will distribute its CrashCourse concussion content to educate baseball players, parents and coaches.

CrashCourse is an education initiative to provide medical knowledge about the prevention and treatment of concussions. It was developed by leading medical, education, engineering and science researchers with input from world-class coaches and athletes and aims to correct common myths and misconceptions to help affected athletes, parents and coaches better recognize and address concussion symptoms.

“CrashCourse is a fantastic tool to raise awareness and understanding of concussions in athletes,” said Dr. Josh Bloom, chief medical officer of the USA Baseball Medical Oversight Commission and medical director for Carolina Sports Concussion Clinic. “Simply put, the more our athletes know about these injuries, the better. We are proud that USA Baseball continues to be a leader in concussion education and treatment. Providing CrashCourse education for all levels of our athletes is another important positive step.”

“This partnership provides a valuable resource for our coaches and officials and a sound foundation for safer sport participation from youth leagues on up, both in practice and in competition,” said Paul Seiler, USA Baseball executive director and CEO.

Several other NGBs have recently announced partnerships with Teach Aids, including U.S. Soccer, U.S. Ski & Snowboard, USA Hockey and USA Gymnastics.

“We are proud to work with USA Baseball and look forward to instituting our CrashCourse concussion education into their programming,” said Dr. Piya Sorcar, founder and CEO of TeachAids. “They have been a leader in supporting athletes of all ages with pedagogically grounded and effective education to make their sport safer for all.”
