USA Fencing will open its Maison d’Escrime (French for “house of fencing”) at the Biltmore Los Angeles during the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It will serve as a gathering spot for Team USA athletes, families, donors, sponsors and guests throughout both Games.

This is the first sport-specific hospitality house to be announced by a U.S. national governing body for the 2028 Games and it will be invitation-only. Fencing competitions will take place roughly one mile away at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

“This is a home Olympic Games, and our community deserves a home to match,” said Phil Andrews, CEO of USA Fencing. “Maison d’Escrime is where we will celebrate together, the way fencing families have always done after a long, fun day of fencing. We want our athletes to walk in and feel like they are surrounded by the people who got them there. And we want our members and supporters to feel like part of the team, because they are.”

Maison d’Escrime will host watch parties, medal celebrations and meet-and-greets with current Team USA athletes, as well as appearances by Olympic and Paralympic legends and events for partners and donors. There will also be a media zone and a space for content creation tied to the sport.

USA Fencing is expecting to share the venue with one or more additional sports during the Games. At theOlympic Winter Games in Milan-Cortina earlier this year, U.S. Figure Skating, USA Hockey and US Speedskating shared the Winter House.

USA Fencing expects to share the venue with one or more additional sports during the Games, with those details to be announced. The collaborative approach mirrors the model used by U.S. Figure Skating, USA Hockey and US Speedskating, which jointly operated Winter House at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games earlier this year.

At SportsTravel‘s Road Trip earlier this month in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the CEOs of those three NGBs discussed the value in sharing a space. “It rearlly gave that Olympic feel to it,” said USA Hockey CEO Pat Kelleher. “It was a home base where everybody felt a part of Team USA.”

The Biltmore opened in 1923 and was the headquarters for the International Olympic Committee during the 1984 Los Angeles Games, which was the last time the Summer Olympics were held in the city.

Next month the USA Fencing National Championships and July Challenge will take place in Portland, Oregon.
