Ted Keith USA Gymnastics announced that its Championships will return to Des Moines next June 21—26, while also making a series of announcements about other events on the 2027 calendar.
The Championships will be held at the Iowa Events Center and feature the country’s best acrobatic, rhythmic and trampoline and tumbling gymnasts.
The USA Gymnastics Championships serve as the national championship event for each discipline, where multiple Olympians and world champions will vie for titles at Casey’s Center, while development athletes are featured at the Community Choice Convention Center in downtown Des Moines.
The 2027-28 U.S. Junior and Senior National Teams for all three disciplines also will be named at the event’s conclusion, beginning the push to the 2028 Olympic year in earnest.
“USA Gymnastics looks forward to returning to Des Moines in 2027 to showcase some of the best gymnastics in the world,” USAG Chief Program Officer Stefanie Korepin said. “Next year will be incredibly important in the ramp up to Olympic Team selection in 2028. Fans will get to see World champions and Olympians performing at their very best.”
Next year will mark the first time Des Moines has hosted the event since 2022, and the third time since 2019. Past editions featured Olympians Aliaksei Shostak, Nicole Ahsinger and Jessica Stevens. All three continue to compete and are anticipated to be in Des Moines. Results in Iowa also will factor into 2027 World Championships team selections for the rhythmic and trampoline and tumbling disciplines.
“It’s such an honor to welcome the USA GymnasticsChampionships back to Greater Des Moines for a third time,” said Trina Flack, President and CEO of Catch Des Moines. “We’re proud of this relationship with USAG and are excited to roll out the welcome mat for athletes, coaches, and fans and have everyone experience everything our city has to offer!”
Additional information, including competition schedule and ticket information, will be available at a later date.
