USA Pickleball to Hold First Wheelchair National Championships in Colorado
CEO Mike Nealy called it 'a defining moment for our sport'
Posted On: March 26, 2026 By :The inaugural USA Pickleball Wheelchair National Championships will take place June 19-21, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and be hosted by Peak Pickleball.
The announcement was made by USA Pickleball, the sport’s governing body, and the event will be dedicated exclusively to wheelchair athletes. It will feature competitions in singles, doubles and hybrid doubles and include athletes from first-time competitors to national-caliber players.
“This is a defining moment for our sport, and we are proud to be an integral part of it,” said Mike Nealy, CEO of USA Pickleball. “By introducing a national championship for wheelchair athletes, we are not only expanding opportunities, but we are helping shape a more inclusive future for the sport at every level. We’re grateful to partner with Peak Pickleball, whose commitment to expanding access for wheelchair athletes is helping drive meaningful progress across the sport.”
The event will award national titles, medals, and championship rings, establishing a new pinnacle of achievement for wheelchair pickleball athletes.
