Verizon to Improve Wi-Fi Access at 12 NASCAR Tracks
The three-year deal includes new sponsorship support from the communications company

NASCAR and Verizon have announced a multiyear partnership to modernize 12 NASCAR-owned racetracks by enhancing wireless access for race fans, drivers and teams in effort to help fans more easily share images of live events on their mobile devices.
The partnership designates Verizon as the official wireless telecommunications and 5G mobility partner of NASCAR, as well as the official at-track Wi-Fi partner of NASCAR-owned venues. The three-year agreement will see Verizon work with NASCAR to upgrade its in-venue wireless communications service, starting with improved Wi-Fi service at the 12 racetracks the series owns.
“There’s nothing like the thrill and excitement of attending a NASCAR race and now there are more ways than ever to capture and share that experience,” said Craig Neeb, NASCAR’s executive vice president and chief innovation officer. “Partnering with Verizon will offer fans the benefits of reliable in-venue connectivity as we usher in a new era for our sport.”
The deal was announced on the heels of the opening race of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series, the Daytona 500. The 62nd annual race will be staged February 16.
