Visit Monroeville Sports to Host AJGA Tournament
Golf tournament will be in May of 2020 and 2021
Posted On: March 13, 2020 By :Visit Monroeville Sports Tourism will be the host of an American Junior Golf Association event in 2020 and 2021, the VM Sports Preview at Westmoreland Country Club in Export, Pennsylvania.
The 2020 event is scheduled to be held May 1–3, with a practice round followed by 36 holes of stroke play. A putting contest will also be held after the first round for all participants. The AJGA Preview Series is designed for AJGA members to start building performance based entry status to establish the foundation for a junior golfer’s career moving forward within the AJGA.
“We are honored to be hosting the AJGA in 2020 and for years to come,” said Amy Capcara, sales and marketing manager for VM Sports and Visit Monroeville. “We are always looking to attract new events to the area, and this was an especially prestigious win for us.”
The 78-player field will be eligible to receive a $50 housing reimbursement courtesy of Visit Monroeville Tourism as an incentive for staying in a Monroeville zip code hotel and help reduce the cost to participating families.
