World Aquatics Unveils Open Water Swimming World Cup 2024 Schedule

Athletes to compete in five locations across three continents

The World Aquatics Open Water Swimming World Cup 2024 calendar will visit five locations on three continents starting in March.

“Every stop of the World Aquatics Open Water World Cup 2024 provides something extraordinary, from the crystal-clear waters of Soma Bay to the Hong Kong skyline,” said World Aquatics President Captain Husain Al-Musallam. “Next year promises to be a really special one for open water swimming.”

The 18th season of the World Aquatics Open Water World Cup 2024 begins March 23–24 in Soma Bay, Egypt, home for an event during the 2023 season as part of the Egypt Aquatics Festival.

The circuit moves to Golfo Aranci, Italy, from May 25–26 and after a one-week break, the schedule resumes June 1–2 in Setubal, Portugal, and the Sado Estuary Nature Reserve, which has successfully welcomed multiple World Aquatics open water events, including the Olympic Marathon Swim Qualifier events in 2012, 2016 and 2021, the Marathon Swim World Series 2022, and the World Aquatics Open Water Swimming World Cup 2023.

“Open water swimming is a big part of our culture and we are always happy to welcome friends from around the world to compete,” said Portuguese swimmer Tiago Campos.

The schedule resumes October 26–27 in Hong Kong before finishing in Eilat, Israel, at a date to be announced later.
