“We are thrilled to officially begin the countdown to the 2027 NCAA Women’s Final Four, one of the biggest weekends in women’s sports,” said Linda Logan, CEO and president of the Greater Columbus Sports Commission. “From new community-wide celebrations of girls and women in sports to elevated student-athlete fan experiences, we look forward to showcasing all that’s new in Columbus and why we’re a top sports city.”

The national semifinals will take place at Nationwide Arena, home of the Ohio State Buckeyes, on Friday, April 2 and the championship game will be held two days prior. This will be the first time Columbus has hosted the Women’s Final Four since 2018, and it will be a tough act to follow. That year Notre Dame knocked off undefeated UConn in the semifinals before beating 37-1 Mississippi State in the title game. Both games were won on last-second shots by Arike Ogunbowale.

“Hosting the Women’s Final Four in Columbus is a win for all involved,” said Ross Bjork, senior vice president and athletics director at Ohio State. “The partnership between Ohio State, the Greater Columbus Sports Commission and Nationwide Arena, among others, will make this a premier event that will also serve as a way to shine a spotlight on our great city and a sport that is rapidly growing in popularity. We have a long history of putting on first-class events in Columbus, and this will be no exception.”

More information about tickets will be provided at the conclusion of this year’s Final Four, which will be April 3 and 5 in Phoenix.

The 2028 Women’s Final Four was moved to Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts, after originally being scheduled for Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home of the NBA’s Pacers and the WNBA’s Fever, because of ticket demand.
