The Great Lakes are a national treasure, and the states surrounding their shores benefit from their geographic proximity. Each year, Americans flock to this region to enjoy vacations that include time on beaches, taking in a baseball game or, in the colder months, cheering on one of the area’s powerhouse football teams. Teams and their fans heading to an event here can expect an excellent turnout, no matter the season, because in this region, sports are part of the fabric of daily life and are celebrated at all levels.
