Ryan Strickland Promoted to COO at Play Treasure Coast Sports

Ryan Strickland has been promoted to chief operating officer of Play Treasure Coast Sports, the organization announced Thursday. In his new role, which takes effect immediately, Strickland will oversee daily operations and strategic initiatives for the organization, which was formerly known as Treasure Coast Sports Commission.

“Ryan has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, operational expertise, and a deep commitment to our mission,” said Rick Hatcher, president/CEO of Play Treasure Coast Sports. “His promotion to chief operating officer reflects both his contributions to date and our confidence in his ability to help lead the organization into its next phase of growth.”

Strickland joined the organization in 2016 as director, marketing and business development before becoming a vice president in 2021. “I am honored to step into the role of chief operating officer,” said Strickland. “Play Treasure Coast Sports has an incredible team of strong community partners, and I look forward to continuing our work to grow sports tourism and its positive impact throughout Florida’s Treasure Coast.”

In recent years Play Treasure Coast Sports has hosted the Babe Ruth Softball World Series, the Cal Ripken Baseball World Series and the PGA Professional Championship, among other events. The organization aims to attract and support sports events in the Treasure Coast region of Florida, encompassing Indian River County, St. Lucie County and Martin County.
