Visit Idaho Strikes Five-Year Partnership With AJGA

Visit Idaho will be the official destination partner of the American Junior Golf Association as part of a five-year partnership announced this week. This is the first time a state destination marketing organization has teamed up with the AJGA as a Proud Partner.

“Idaho’s dramatic landscapes and distinct seasons make it easy to pair world-class golf with unforgettable outdoor adventure nearly year-round,” said Jeremy Chase, Tourism & Marketing Administrator for the Idaho Department of Commerce. “Our partnership with the AJGA invites the next generation of golfers and their families to experience Idaho beyond the fairway, charging through whitewater rapids, tackling endless mountain trails, cruising scenic byways and exploring the incredible and diverse golf adventures around the state.”

As part of the arrangement, Visit Idaho will be the title sponsor of an AJGA Open Championship this year and two AJGA events each year from 2027 through 2030. This year’s Visit Idaho Junior Championship will take place July 6-9 at BanBury Golf Club in Eagle, Idaho.

Visit Idaho will have activations throughout AJGA’s schedule with Visit Idaho Operation Hydration that will include shaded hospitality areas and branded water stations. The DMO will also be the presenting sponsor of the AJGA’s monthly newsletter, which offers branded storytelling and features, and have a presence on the AJGA’s social media channels and website.

“This collaboration highlights how destination marketing organizations can connect with junior sports in a meaningful way,” said Patrick Cansfield, AJGA Senior Director of Development. “Visit Idaho’s vision and investment allow us to enhance the on-site experience while introducing families to a destination that aligns perfectly with the values of junior golf and outdoor exploration.”

AJGA alumni have won more than 1,000 times on the PGA and LPGA tours and boast alumni such as Scottie Scheffler, Tiger Woods, Nelly Korda and Lexi Thompson.
