The Japan Football Association has officially announced that its Men’s National Soccer Team will use Nashville SC’s Training Center in Antioch, Tennessee, as its team base camp and training site during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
When they are not traveling to matches, the team will stay in Nashville at a hotel that is yet to be disclosed.
Having opened in June 2023, Nashville SC’s 12-acre, 60,000-square-foot Training Center houses three soccer fields, a full-service dining hall, a theater-style video and film room, cardio and weight-training areas, cryogenic chambers and on-site medical facilities.
“Nashville has proven itself as a worldwide hub for soccer, music and culture, and the decision by FIFA and the Japan Football Association to use Nashville SC’s Training Center as a home base for this year’s World Cup underscores our city’s importance in the global soccer landscape,” said Nashville SC Chief Business Officer Lindsey Paola. “We are both honored and thrilled to be a part of the biggest World Cup in the tournament’s 95-year history.”
Playing in Group F, Japan will begin their campaign against the Netherlands in Dallas on June 14 before heading to Monterrey in Mexico to face Tunisia on June 20. They will then return to Dallas on June 25 to take on a European Play-Off Path winner in the shape of either Ukraine, Poland, Sweden or Albania.
