He has previously worked as vice president and COO of the Greensboro Sports Foundation and the President of the Asheville Buncombe Regional Sports Commission and has successfully recruited and executed NCAA championships, conference tournaments and international events.
“We’re excited to welcome Demp to the Visit VBR team and look forward to the expertise he brings to this role. His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to grow our sports and meetings efforts,” said Landon Howard, President of Visit Virginia’s Blue Ridge.
Bradford played a key role in relocating the Maui Invitational to Asheville in November 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as securing and hosting three Billie Jean King Cups ties, the first major international events in Asheville’s history.
Bradford graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in exercise and sports science before getting his master’s from East Carolina University. He has also been an adjunct professor at Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C.
