FIVB Names Three U.S. Cities to Host 2027 Women’s World Cup

Three cities and venues in the United States have been announced as hosts for the the first FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup, which will take place in the U.S. and Canada next summer. Anaheim, California (Honda Center); Omaha, Nebraska (CHI Health Center Arena); and Orlando, Florida (Kia Center) will be the U.S. locations, while the Canadian cities will be announced at a later date.

The event is the flagship international tournament for the sport of volleyball. It will take place from August 20—September 5, 2027.

Anaheim will host the finals, as well as the semifinals and quarterfinals. Omaha and Orlando will host Pool Play and round-of-16 matches. All three cities were chosen in part for being volleyball hotbeds, as well as having world-class venues with appropriate seating capacities; each venue can seat at least 17,000 for volleyball.

The Honda Center will also serve as the host venue for the men’s and women’s indoor volleyball competition for the LA28 Games. The World Cup will serve as an Olympic qualifier, with the top three national teams that had not yet qualified for LA28 earning spots.

This World Cup will elevate volleyball in North America to the top level of women’s sports, where it belongs.”

The event will be broadcast on ION, which will have 17 days of national coverage including 19 live matches. Ticket prices will be announced next month when the pools are announced.
