Colombia Selects Guadalajara as Base Camp Location for 2026 FIFA World Cup
South Korea will also be based in Guadalajara during this summer's tournament
Posted On: January 30, 2026 By :FIFA has confirmed that the Colombian national soccer team will be based in the city of Guadalajara, Mexico during the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The team’s base camp will be at the Atlas AGA Academy, a complex that opened in September 2023. The site has six professional courts, a clubhouse, and a sports science and medical center, and it was recognized in the Architizer A+Awards 2025 which promotes and celebrates the best architecture and spaces on an annual basis.
Guadalajara is one of the host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the location for Colombia’s second group-stage match.
The Colombian Football Federation selected the complex as its base camp due to its proximity to Guadalajara International Airport, which has direct routes to cities in Mexico and the U.S., as well as its high ratings in sports infrastructure and urban logistics.
Colombia will begin their Group K campaign on June 17 against World Cup debutants Uzbekistan in Mexico City, before heading back to Guadalajara on June 23 to play against the Intercontinental Playoff Path 1 Winner (one of Congo DR, Jamaica or New Caledonia). They will then meet Portugal in Miami on June 27 to decide the final group standings.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, which has been expanded to 48 teams, will begin with Mexico v South Africa on June 11 in Mexico City, with the final being held on July 19 in New York New Jersey.
