Posted On: April 1, 2026 By :The full lineup of teams participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States has been confirmed after the conclusion of the final Play-Off Tournaments.
A further six national teams qualified this week through the play-offs (Sweden, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Czechia, Türkiye, Congo DR and Iraq), almost four months after the Final Draw took place in Washington, D.C in front of a global audience of millions of people. Türkiye will now join the United States, Paraguay and Australia in Group D, while Bosnia-Herzegovina will be the first opponent for Canada in Group B. Czechia, meanwhile, will be in Group A alongside co-host Mexico, South Africa and South Korea.
For the first time, the tournament will feature 104 matches and 48 teams, including 12 groups of four national teams, and a new round-of-32, before a world champion is decided.
In addition, it is the first time that there will be three host nations for a Men’s FIFA World Cup (Canada, Mexico and the United States), with 16 host cities including 11 in the United States alone.
