La Liga club Girona FC held its first international youth camp in Palmyra, Pennsylvania, this week with more than 90 youth players participating.
The Palmyra camp is the result of a link established with Iron Valley United through the Catalan agency Iberia Sports, after a group of players visited Girona. This initiative is part of the “Football Experiences” project, launched by Girona in 2022 with the aim of offering experiences to players, coaches and teams to learn about the Club’s methodology and structure from the inside.
Three professionals from the club’s academy have travelled to the United States to lead the sessions to establish international relations and invite the participants to a “Girona Week” in November 2025 at the Club’s facilities with training, education and attendance at a match.
Girona finished third in La Liga in the 2023–2024 season and spent the past season competing in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League. Girona will also carry out a tour of clinics in Japan in August.
“With these initiatives, Girona reinforces its position as a benchmark in sports tourism, promoting international football experiences that generate economic returns for the Club and the region,” the club said in its press release.
