Intercollegiate Tennis Association Announces Split Sites for Indoor Championships

SMU and Baylor will host men's action, with Illinois and Northwestern hosting the women's event

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has announced SMU and Baylor as the co-hosts for the 2025 and 2026 ITA Division I Men’s National Team Indoor Championship along with Illinois and Northwestern as the co-hosts for the 2025 and 2026 ITA Division I Women’s National Team Indoor Championship.

Splitting host responsibilities between two schools within 200 miles of each other will allow the ITA to be in the Chicago and Dallas markets while working to enhance the attendee and athlete experience.

“We are thrilled that we’ll be hosting the newly formatted National Indoor Championships,” said Northwestern coach Claire Pollard. “Our primary goal is to ensure that every student-athlete participating has a truly extraordinary experience. We’re aiming to rally the entire Chicagoland tennis community behind this event, creating an electric atmosphere for all the teams involved.”

Illinois and Northwestern will welcome the best teams in Division I Women’s Tennis to Champaign and Evanston in 2025 and 2026. Northwestern will be designated as the final site and will host both semifinal matches as well as the finals at its facility.

“We are thrilled to be selected to host the ITA National Women’s Indoor Championships in Champaign in 2025 and 2026,” said Illinois coach Evan Clark. “We believe we have the facility, staff, and community to put on a world-class event that highlights the best of what women’s college tennis has to offer.”

Baylor and SMU will be the two co-hosts for the 2025 and 2026 ITA Division I Men’s National Team Indoor Championships. SMU will be tabbed as the final site and will host both semifinal matches as well as the final from the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.

“Our university and athletic department are thrilled to have the opportunity to host the ITA’s premier men’s collegiate tennis event over the next couple of years,” said Baylor coach Michael Woodson. “We are looking forward to the chance to lay a great foundation for the new format of the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.”

“We are thrilled to welcome the nation’s best to Dallas for ITA Men’s National Team Indoor Championships,” said SMU coach Grant Chen. “It is the crown jewel in the ITA calendar and we are honored to showcase our facility and town. Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex was designed with the vision to bring world-class events of all levels to SMU and we will continue to bring that to light.”
