LA28: More than 1.5 Million Registrations in First 24 Hours of Ticket Draw
More registrations were made in the first day of the LA28 Ticket Draw than for Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024 and Milan-Cortina 2026 combined
Posted On: January 16, 2026 By :More than 1.5 million registrations were made in the first 24 hours of registration for the LA28 Ticket Draw, according to the organizers of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
With more than two years still to go until LA28, it is the earliest registration period for a Games to date, and it was reported that more registrations for the LA28 Games were made in the first day than Tokyo (2020/2021), Paris (2024) and Milan-Cortina (2026) combined.
During the opening 24 hours from January 14, registrations were made by fans in more than 150 countries.
“The Olympic Games returning to Los Angeles in 2028 is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to witness history,” said LA28 Chairperson and President Casey Wasserman. “The spirit of the LA28 Games is now officially ignited around the world, and fans have already shown up in record-breaking numbers just one day into our ticket registration.
“The journey is just beginning, and we look forward to an epic and unforgettable experience together in 2028.”
Registration for the LA28 Ticket Draw remains open through March 18.
Next Steps
Registration for the LA28 Ticket Draw is the first step for a chance to secure a time slot to purchase tickets beginning in April. Once registered, participants will be entered into a ticket draw, which will randomly assign time slots to purchase tickets throughout future ticket drops.
The LA28 ticket process is being run by LA28’s Official Ticketing Service Providers AXS and EVENTIM. In addition to individual tickets, curated ticket-inclusive hospitality experiences and packages from On Location will also go on sale this year.
Event organizers have also confirmed that tickets for the 2028 Paralympic Games will go on sale in 2027.
Olympic and Paralympic Milestones
Uniting more than 15,000 athletes in 2028, Los Angeles will become the third city to host three Olympic Games, following 1932 and 1984, and it will also host its first Paralympic Games. The LA28 Games are also set to become the first Olympic Games in history with more women athletes than men, feature the debut of new Olympic and Paralympic sports (debuts for flag football, squash and para climbing), and be the first Games since 1948 to not build any new permanent infrastructure.
Games Schedules
With 353 events across 36 sports, the LA28 Olympic Summer Games will be held from July 14 to July 30, 2028. The Paralympic Games will take place shortly afterwards, August 15–27, 2028.
LA28 released the provisional competition schedules for both the Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games in November.
