A professional tennis league launching this June is introducing a Challenge Series designed to give rising players the opportunity to earn a spot in the professional league.
Intennse bills itself as combining professional tennis with team-based rivalries. Held on Thursdays and Fridays during competition weeks, the Challenge Series will take place at the Intennese Arena at Electric Owl Studios in Atlanta.
“The Intennse Challenge Series is where elite competition meets opportunity,” said Head of Competition Barry Fulcher. “This is a stage where rising talents go toe-to-toe with seasoned professionals, pushing the limits of skill and strategy in a fast-paced, dynamic format, battling it out for a share of the prize pot.”

On Thursdays, players will be divided into groups based on a multi-factor approach including World Tennis Number and Universal Tennis Rating. The format consists of individual 10-minute matches with group winners and runner-up earning prize money and progressing through to Friday’s shootout rounds.
Players will then compete in a shootout draw, with the top three performers earning a roster spot on the Challenge team that will face a professional team on Saturday. They will also earn additional pay checks based on final finish.
“There are so many players out there with the talent and mindset to compete at this level,” said Director of Player Relations Jean-Yves Aubone. “The Challenge Series gives them a real shot — not just to earn prize money, but to play in the Intennese Arena, in front of fans, coaches and scouts, and make their case for next season’s draft.”
Teams from Atlanta, Jacksonville and Tampa are slated to participate in the inaugural season, according to the league.
