Oak View Group Names Verizon as 5G and Technology Partner
Verizon to equip UBS Arena, Climate Pledge Arena and Coachella Valley Arena with 5G technology
Posted On: May 10, 2021 By :Oak View Group is partnering with Verizon to become the exclusive 5G and wireless partner New York’s UBS Arena, Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena and Palm Springs’ Coachella Valley Arena. The deal will bring 5G Ultra Wideband to the arenas, which will have the ability to use the technology for public safety, access, concessions, crowd management and immersive fan experiences.
The three arenas will be home to future hockey franchises with UBS Arena opening this fall as the home of the New York Islanders, Climate Pledge Arena as the home for the Seattle Kraken and Coachella Valley Arena as the home of a future AHL team. Each will harness Verizon 5G technology, as well as the Distributed Antenna System and Converged Network Services providing voice, data and wifi services to enhance the fan experience.

The Verizon Lounge at Climate Pledge Arena will sponsor arena concerts and is the presenting sponsor of shows while the Verizon Lounge at UBS Arena will host private members for more intimate experiences. Verizon’s customer loyalty rewards program, Verizon Up, will offer members exclusive access at OVG arenas such as VIP entrance access, complimentary food and beverage, merchandise credit and exclusive player photo opportunities
The company also is a signatory of The Climate Pledge, for which the Seattle arena is named. The Climate Pledge is a community of currently over 100 companies and organizations working to combat the climate crisis by committing to reach net zero carbon by 2040.
